Tryambakahoma

This is a minor rite forming the last part of the Sākamedha sacrifice. It consists in making an offering of cakes in a palāśa leaf at the crossroad (of the village or town) with the famous mantra tryambakaṁ yajāmahe (Vājasaneyī Saṁhitā 3.6) addressed to Rudra-Śiva.
